NAV 2015 - Simplified Email.

Hi all,

While Reading Readiness Document for NAV 2015 i came across some new Feature For Simplified Email  in NAV 2015. Let's see what document says in the article.

To me this is something cool as most of the customer had this feature customized from there partners. If its in standard Customers will be really happy with a feature which everyone was looking for.

1. Simplified Email -

Microsoft have introduced a new feature called "Simplified Email with a Report Attachment", which enables a uniform way of sending document reports as attachments from any client.

Ready made
Out of the box Microsoft have added the Email function to 15+ pages and promoted the action in all profiles.

Implementation Consideration -

New UI:

1. Email action added to core Sales Order Process pages
2. Simplified Email dialog (page)
3. Removed “send as Attachment” from the General Tab on the Ribbon when new action is present

Code:

1. Uses Report Selection to lookup and generate the report
2. Auto-generates to-recipient, sender, attachment filename in the Email dialog
3. Emails are sent using existing SMTP codeunit which allow emails to be sent from any client

Batch Jobs with Email -

Email jobs that relied on the SMTP implementation will work without changes

All is done using - Report Distribution Management codeunit (452)

Hope you find the information useful.

Stay tuned for More about #NAV 2015.
