In this series we are discussing what's new in Business Central 2021 (Wave 2) a.k.a BC19.

This article we will discuss about - Enhancement of Word Template in Business Central.

With this series we will understand what's new the product and learn it before it becomes available for customers.

Feature Details - 

Within Business Central, the user can communicate via emails with the relevant business parties and generate these mails in a structured and professional way using Word templates to combine the Word text with information from Business Central.

Explanation -

  • In Last Release of Business Central, Microsoft Added Word Template.
  • With Business Central 2021 Release Wave 2, Microsoft Enhanced Usage Scenarios of Word Template.

  • You can Search for word Template and add New Template for tables that you need. 
  • (if you need a detailed article about creating word template, please add a comment to this article.)


  • While Sending Email the default template that is generated is based on word layout that is assigned in Report Selections.

  • But if you would like you can create custom word template and choose those as Email Body.
  • In case of Sales Order the Word Template page will be filtered with Current Record and the additional master Record like customer.


  • Once Selected the Email Body Layout is replaced with the selected Word template as shown below.


  • Not Just that You can also add Email Attachment from the word template. You can also selected which type of attachment you would like to attach.

Hi all, As a Navision developers I have Multiple Versions of Navision running in single Machine. As discussed Earlier in the post how to run multiple Version of RTC in single machine. So my machine have following details for RTC Versions - NAV 2009 R2    - is installed.
