Hi all,
Today post is a simple post about copying a company within a database with diffrent name.
This post was on request of +chandru s , so all thanks to him that you all are reading this.
I have done this in Cronus IN Database. Currently it had only company as shown below.
1. Open the Powershell and import nav modules as shown below.
2. Refresh the commands from the right panel and search for Copy-NAVCompany.
Specify the parameter in the window as shown below.
3. From the bottom of window shown above, select copy and paste in the Command Window.
Run the command from the button in below screen or using shortcut F5.
4. Open the Company List in NAV 2013 R2 Windows Client and you will find the new company is copied, as shown below.
The complete command is shown below.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
#Prepare PowerShell
Set-ExecutionPolicy unrestricted -Force
Import-Module 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\71\Service\NavAdminTool.ps1'
#Copy Company
Copy-NAVCompany -DestinationCompanyName "New Crouns Company" -ServerInstance DynamicsNAV71 -SourceCompanyName "CRONUS India Ltd." -Force
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can also find the cmdlets from my skydrive folder, using which you can just set parameter as per your requirement. File Name - Command 6- Copy Company.ps1.
I hope you will find the post useful.

My database capacity is 150GB and it is not in C drive. Both data and log file in a separate drive (1TB space) . But then I do the copy company my C drive is getting full. What could be the reason ?
ReplyDeleteCheck where Tempdb files are placed. I am sure it will on C Drive.
DeleteIf that is the case then add an file in temdb who is placed in Additional drives to.
During all these processes it also use Tempdb.
