Creating Custom Email Subject in MS Dynamics 365 Business Central: A Step-by-Step Guide.

Business Central allow to send email from different areas in business central.

There are some default values set, which may or may not comply with business requirements. 

In this article we will discuss about How to Customize Subject Line for #msdyn365bc Emails.

Scenario:

With Business Central, Emails are build-in with Business Central Application area like - Sales, Purchase, Service and others.

When user tires to send an email, a system generated Subject like is generated like shown below.

Subject Like contains -

  • Company Name.
  • Document Type.
  • Document No.

 


Requirement:

  • Customer would like to change the Subject Line for Sales Order.

Solution:

  • Email Subjects are generated via Codeunit 260 - "Document-Mailing" with function GetEmailSubject.  
  • An Event is available to customize the Email Subject OnBeforeGetEmailSubject.
  • You can subscribe to event and customize subject like as below.
