#msdyn365bc - Getting Started with Building Apps?

Hi Readers,

As we all Dynamics NAV Developers are trying to constantly upgrades ourselves to #msdyn365bc developers.

We all understand that having Apps available on AppSource is the future for all of us. As of today there are 1113 apps available in AppSource for Business Central.

With this change as we are learning we also need to understand How do I build Apps for Business Central. 

As we are learning it and trying to build apps for the community we should also try to keep our development methodology align with Microsoft.

If we apply all best practices defined by Microsoft -

  • Our Apps are available in AppSource timely.
  • Reduce efforts for Microsoft to validate our apps.

In this article, we will talk about How should we go ahead in writing apps for BC Online. 

Microsoft have upgrade MSDN documentation which will share all steps required for App Validation.

Get Started with Building Apps

This MSDN Article takes about 06 steps that you need to get started.
  • Step 1: Become a partner.
  • Step 2: Register as a publisher.
  • Step 3: Your unique app specifications.
  • Step 4: Getting access to preview bits.
  • Step 5: Resources while you develop your solution.
  • Step 6: Publish your app in the Microsoft commercial marketplace.
Once you are ready with all above steps then we need to work on Technical Validation of our App.

Technical Validation for Business Central Apps.

Last but not least we as developers need to start work on Marketing of our app.

NAV 2013 Upgrade Part III - Data Upgrading.

Hi all, As per agenda we need to discuss the data upgrade in NAV 2013. The process is similar to what used to be till NAV 2009 R2 but with some changes. Let's start the process. Remember -  1) You can only upgrade a database to NAV 2013 from NAV 2009 SP1 / R2 SQL Only. 2) The Synchronization of users with SQL Server is no more required.
