Microsoft Dynamics NAV / BC - How to Setup default company for user?

Hi Readers,

I think most of us know this but someone asked me and I also did it for one of my customers. I thought it makes sense to have a small blog post for same so that I can reference it later too.

When we start Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Business Central it auto start with a company. In this article, we will discuss how we can set a default company in both clients.

If you are using Microsoft Dynamics NAV, window client the company that will open when the user clicks on Microsoft Dynamics NAV Client system reads company Name from user personalization.

So set Company Name in User personalization (as shown below) -

In Business Central, Default company is pulled from My Setting page. This setting gets updated once the user changes it. Behind the scene, it also updates user personalization for the user that is changing that in Web Client.

Hope it helps & it helps in your NAV / Business Central implementations.
