Upgrade To NAV 2013 or Later - Transferring Record Links From 5.0 or 2009 To 2013 or Later.

Hi All,

Today we will discuss an Common Issue which we face during upgrade to NAV 2013 and Later from NAV 2009 or Previous Versions.

After Data Migration All Data come as-is but Due to some Reason the Migration Process did not process Record Links To New Version.

The Table 2000000068 Record Link Which we are discussing in This Article, have different architecture in NAV 5.0, 2009 and 2013 Onwards. That Might be one reason.

All Thanks To +Suman Maharjan , For Raising the Issue To me.

So Let's first see how we use Record Links IN NAV 2009 -

1. Go To any of the Form and select Links as shown below Image -

2. So For Demo I created Three Files to Add as Record Link in NAV 2009 and below are files -

3. This is How These Records in Record Link Table.

Now the Solution To Issue -

1. Run the Dataport 80000 (download from Link at end of Post), select File Name and Export is done.

2. Now Login Into NAV 2013 or Later and Import XmlPort. Run the XMLPort 80000 and Select File Name that you exported in Last Step. The Import is completed.

3. Let's have a Look in Record Link Table in NAV 2016 -

4. Let's Try with Role Tailored Client

Hope this article helps.

For Technical Design you can refer the Dataport and Xmlports. Let me know if you have any questions about technical design.

As i already told that design of table is different in NAV 5 & 2009 the Object Sets are there for Both NAV 5 & 2009.

** Objects are available in Text and Fob. If you want to renumber then use text.

Download From OneDrive

Folder - Upgrade.
File Name - Import Export Record Links From NAV 5 or 2009 TO NAV 2013 or Later.

Saurav Dhyani
